Flamingos are an iconic bird in Florida. For me, who was born in Venezuela and grew up seeing them by the thousands at the plains region (los llanos), they are a connection between the place where I live now, Orlando and the place I was born and raised. I chose an intense, vibrant pink color that represents a very healthy Flamingo in the wild. We must protect the wildlife on the planet and we need to do more. The sad part is that we are running out of time. We need to make sure all the endangered species survive so the balance in Nature remains for future generations and the only way for them to see any of these beautiful animals is not on photos or paintings.
